From our forum:

"Black Bloc is a death ambient/heavy electronics project I do that is overtly radical, with leaning toward anarcho-primitivism. Lyrics dealing with things such as sexual abuse, mental health issues, the nature of imperialism, psychological warfare and other stuff. I try to make things more personal than just the normal "smash the state" rhetoric bands always use.

This new album has just been put up online. 90 minutes, 3 songs that have taken shape over the last year and some weeks or months. The archive comes packed with full lyrics and thoughts about the topics discussed. A physical release by the end of the year will have a double cd, and 16 page zine full of collages, artwork, lyrics and essays"

In the next few days I'll post some more noisy stuff (I dunno if you like it or not, though), as well as some BM. Stay tuned!

OlafPalme - "Evil" (2010)

OLAFPALME "Evil" (demo)

Year: 2010
Genre: Darkwave / Experimental / Noise
Country: Russia

Track List:
  1. Evil
  2. Sex
  3. Born

I'm continuing to post noise/industrial release produced by crusties, and here's a demo by Russian one-man project called OlafPalme. If I'm not mistaken, the guy behind OlafPalme lives in Norilsk, which is located in a really remote region beyond the Arctic Circle. Just like many power electronics / noise releases, this demo deals with subjects like politics, violence and extreme sexuality. Of course not a lot of people would appreciate such kind of music, so I won't post the other demos by him (hint: search for them on gnwp.ru, if you're interested).

Acrostix - "Truth Turned Gray With Justice" + "Amebix Japan" tribute (2008)

ACROSTIX "Truth Turned Gray With Justice"

Year: 2008
Genre: Stenchcore / Thrash Metal
Country: Japan

Track List:
  1. Thrash 'Em All
  2. Killing Frost
  3. Iron Bird
DOWNLOAD

As the name of the 1st track suggests, on this EP Acrostix' sound became much more influenced by thrash metal (and 80's metal in general). Check out the track "Iron Bird" - now it's my favourite song by Acrostix after "Eternal Winter".

There is one more release by Acrostix, called "A Chain of Hatred", but it's "burning spirits" hardcore, not metal. So I wouldn't post it here, though it's very good anyway.

Contrast Attitude & Acrostix - split (2004)

CONTRAST ATTITUDE / ACROSTIX "split"

Year: 2004
Genre: Crust / D-Beat (Contrast Attitude), Crust Metal / Stenchcore (Acrostix)
Country: Japan

Track List:

Contrast Attitude

  1. Negative Example
  2. Need Times
  3. Judgement of Cross
  4. Indirect Lecture
Acrostix
  1. Awave
  2. The Beginning or the End
  3. Eternal Winter

The Japanese band Acrostix is my most recent discovery and instant favourite. Their name is an obvious reference to Amebix, and I wouldn't hesitate to call them "japanese Amebix". Of course their music isn't black metal or blackened crust, but it's still very decent stenchcore/crust metal. Here's their split album with Contrast Attitude, who play very fast and noisy crust/d-beat. From the Acrostix' side, I love the track "Eternal Winter" - it's just epic one, clearly influenced by gothic/doom metal, and with lots of keyboards. Quite resembling some tracks from "Monolith" by Amebix, but more raw and powerful. Yes, their sound is very raw and fuzzy, but I like such kind of rawness...

Fear Of Existence - "Ten Reasons To Die" (demo, 2010)

FEAR OF EXISTENCE "Ten Reasons To Die (demo)"

Year: 2010
Genre: Depressive Black Metal
Country: USA

Track List:
  1. Blood
  2. Crater
DOWNLOAD (see here)

One of the bands I mentioned in my previous post, Fear Of Existence is a depressive black metal project of Stephen Davies, a member of blackened crust band Ygramul from Maryland. Seems like he doesn't have a lot of free time (oh, how I understand him...), so there are only two songs recorded right now. The first track reminds me of Mania a little, it's lo-fi depressive black metal, while the second track is much more "post-rock"-ish and doesn't sound like any metal at all. Hopefully a full-length album will be released this summer.
